If you took the path to the second crystal it has a more obvious hidden wall since the only way to get the green block is through the other side. All it takes is bumping a few walls for progress. If you know a room has a switch blocked door then the next room won't just lead to a dead end. I also don't think the first crystal is bad either. You talk about simple logic, but you're dismissing both other crystals being behind doors AND someone telling you there's something hidden behind the waterfall.
